Ben Fisher joins the inControl Digital Solutions Team
Ben joins the team bringing a self-taught, hands-on software engineering background and a strong appetite for learning.
Ben joins the Digital Solutions team to translate complex business and operational requirements into secure, scalable, and supportable IIoT solutions.
In this new role bridging the gap between OT and IT, Ben ensures that IIoT architectures deliver measurable value while aligning with enterprise standards, cyber security policies, and long-term digital strategies.
Ben brings a highly practical background built on nearly a decade of hands-on experience. For nine years, he served as the sole Software Engineer at Tan Delta Systems, where he developed in-house software to automate production and testing processes, alongside customer-facing applications for product configuration.
Complementing this, Ben’s freelance work in the Industrial IoT space—which included rewriting device firmware to improve network stability—demonstrates a proven ability to troubleshoot, adapt, and deliver reliable solutions under pressure.
As Ben puts it:
“Mostly, I just like acquiring new knowledge and practising new skills… inControl was looking for somebody who had proven they can learn and adapt quickly.”
What attracted Ben to inControl was our emphasis on adaptability and proven capability over narrow specialism. With experience across a broad range of technologies—and a commitment to mastering new ones—Ben brings the flexible engineering mindset essential for our work across automation and digital systems.
While it is still early days, Ben has already found the team welcoming and the work engaging. Looking ahead, his immediate focus is clear: to contribute meaningfully, add value, and drive positive improvements wherever possible.
Outside of work, Ben plays guitar and enjoys diving into deep, technical discussions about technology—something we suspect he’ll find plenty of opportunities for here.
Welcome to the team, Ben.
