PLC Programming Services

PLC programming services: professionally engineered and supported

Industrial automation relies on robust PLC software development and integration to ensure smooth operations, scalability, and long-term efficiency. At inControl, we understand that well-structured and supported PLC software is the key to maintaining your industrial processes, whether you are upgrading, integrating or developing a new system from scratch.

Too often, businesses face unexpected or protracted downtime and costly re-engineering due to outdated PLCs, undocumented code, or poorly designed automation systems. Whether you need to upgrade your ancient control systems, integrate PLCs with SCADA, MES, or other business systems, or develop a new automation framework, our approach delivers professional, thoroughly tested software on a fully scalable architecture.

How we develop PLC software

At inControl, we use a top-down, modular methodology to break down complex automation tasks into manageable function blocks. This structured approach makes troubleshooting, upgrades, and system scalability far easier, whilst also reducing long-term maintenance costs.

Reliable, future-proofed PLC control systems

The strength of our PLC software development and integration services lies in our ability to deliver custom solutions tailored to your process and operational needs. Whether you operate high-speed manufacturing lines, precision-based motion control systems, or complex process automation, our PLC software engineers deliver fully tested process automation solutions to an agreed specification and performance criteria.

A wide range of expertise in industrial applications, including:

- Machine, equipment or process automation

- Control systems with remote I/O for distributed process automation

- Advanced motion control and robotic integration

- SCADA & HMI integration with PLC programming

- Redundant PLC architectures for business-critical operations

- Functional and process safety systems

inControl Systems support all major PLC brands: Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff and more. We develop PLC software that works across block PLCs, modular PLC architectures, safety PLCs, remote I/O systems and distributed control systems (DCS). We are also often asked to migrate PLC programs from one brand to another, in order to facilitate site-wide standardisation. This is often done at the same time as mitigating risk due obsolescence from one old PLC to a different brand of your company preference.

PLC integration with SCADA, MES and Industrial IoT

Today’s manufacturing and process industries are rapidly moving towards smart automation, where PLCs must communicate reliably with SCADA systems, MES platforms, and Industrial IoT networks. A well-integrated system means real-time data flow, predictive maintenance capabilities, and improved operational efficiency.

At inControl, we make sure your PLC software is not just functional but fully connected, allowing you to:

  • Remotely monitor production processes for performance and problems
  • Extract valuable data for predictive maintenance and productivity
  • Improve efficiency through machine-to-machine communication
  • Eliminate data silos and create a fully connected automation environment

Why choose inControl for PLC software development and integration?

  • Fully scalable solutions aligned with Industry 4.0 and digital transformation strategies
  • Expert PLC software engineers with extensive industry experience
  • Comprehensive software documentation to assist future modifications
  • Ownership of your PLC source code and project files passes to you on completion
  • Integration with SCADA, MES, and other business systems

We bring a wealth of experience to pour PLC programming

Why professional PLC programming matters

A well-structured PLC program is not just about making machines work it’s about ensuring longevity, efficiency, and adaptability. Poorly developed or rushed control software can eventually lead to extended downtime and excessive maintenance support costs due to the difficulty to diagnose problems or understand the program. This is why our PLC software development approach is structured, fully documented, and designed to make future modifications simple.

Our PLC project process

Every inControl PLC project typically follows these steps:

  1. URS – User Requirement Specification (ideally written by your team)
  2. FDS – Functional Design Specification (written by us, approved by you)
  3. SSRS – Software Safety Requirement Specification (for projects requiring functional safety)
  4. iFAT – Internal Factory Acceptance Testing (at our site by our team)
  5. cFAT – Customer witnessed FAT (witnessed by you against an agreed FAT schedule)
  6. SAT – Site Acceptance Test (at your site and witnessed by you)

On-time and to specification…

Following these key steps ensures minimum disruption to your site and processes and reduces uncertainty on both sides, and ensures a highly successful project.
