Ben joins as Apprentice Applications Engineer to complete his Degree Apprenticeship

Having started his engineering career with his father’s business in South Wales, Ben decided to move to England to further his technical and application skills by joining InControl Systems of Chesterfield Derbyshire.

Despite being a young engineer, Ben already has skills and experience beyond his years, having developed software applications experience with Siemens S7-300, S7-1200 and the LOGO PLC. On top of this, he also has HMI design skills as well as SolidWorks CAD, control panel design and machinery fault diagnosis.
Amongst other projects, Ben has developed PLC control systems conversion for outdated CNC controlled machine tools, showing his versatility as an applications engineer. Other projects include developing a Fieldbus ‘sniffer’ to allow engineers to diagnose data streams from Modbus, Profibus and Profinet, skills that will certainly come in useful at InControl Systems.

Regarding his motivation for becoming a control systems engineer, Ben praised his father as inspiration to start this career, saying that “By dropping me head-first into the industry, my father introduced me to invaluable practical knowledge at Innotech Engineering, a privilege that I’m unsure any other apprenticeship could offer. His mentorship has exponentially accelerated my career development, opening doors that I had never imagined possible”.
And on joining InControl Systems Ben said, “I am very grateful for this opportunity that I’ve been given and have full confidence that InControl Systems will aid my skillset development throughout my time here”.

Steve Rowland – Operations Director at InControl Systems said “we are delighted at having such a promising engineer join the Team, and look forward to being able to help Ben develop his talents and deliver applications for our growing customer base”.
